Meet Matt
Born and raised in the north metro, Matt bought his first home in Blaine. He’s been doing work in the community for more than two decades, starting all the way back when he was 16 years old! He’s led strategies that reduced crime, increased afterschool programs for kids, and worked with both Democrats and Republicans to pass bills with lasting impact.
Matt’s Work
Matt’s produced big results in just four years at the Capitol. Highlights include:
Securing $103 million to fully fund the redesign of Highway 65. Construction to remove four stoplights is underway at long last because of it!
Leading the fight against fraud by authoring and passing two major bills. The first created an independent fraud watchdog called the Office of the Inspector General. The second bill cracked down on Medicaid fraud.
Authoring and passing $300 million in public safety aid for cities and counties, which meant millions more for the Blaine Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff.
